TRAVERSE CITY — A Williamsburg woman falsely reported her vehicle stolen, deputies said.
Authorities charged Eva Marie Steadman, 51, with false report of a felony, which is punishable by up to four years in prison and/or $2,000. Steadman in October reported her vehicle was stolen from her driveway, court records show. Kalkaska County sheriff's deputies soon found the vehicle.
Steadman told deputies she reported her vehicle stolen because her boyfriend told her to do so, authorities said.
