TRAVERSE CITY — An informational open house will be held Wednesday an hour before the state's public hearing on Traverse City's joint permit request to remove Brown Bridge Dam.
Registration for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Water Resources Division hearing starts at 5:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. The city owns the dam.
The Boardman River Dams Project team will provide information and answer questions from 6 to 7 p.m. about the proposed dam removal. Public comment will be accepted at the hearing, and the DEQ will accept written comments on the permit application through June 30.
