TRAVERSE CITY -- A man who allegedly ran from a police officer faces criminal charges.
A Grand Traverse sheriff's deputy attempted to stop the man's pickup truck in Garfield Township at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. The driver, 43, of Traverse City, refused to stop.
The deputy followed the man's vehicle through several apartment complexes along Garfield Road, and the suspect eventually jumped out and ran. The deputy caught up to and arrested the man.
The suspect is expected to be charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, third-offense drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
