BELLAIRE — A local teacher faces criminal charges after he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a student in a classroom.
Michael Henry Peterson, 55, a math teacher at Ellsworth Community School, faces three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Antrim County sheriff's deputies arrested Peterson on Tuesday.
The victim, 15, a student at Ellsworth, contends they engaged in sexual acts in a classroom and in her house last month.
Peterson, of Ellsworth, remains in the Antrim County Jail.
