Man faces charge for armed robberies

MANISTEE — Another man faces a criminal charge for a series of armed robberies in Manistee County.

Manistee County Prosecutor Ford Stone charged Manuel Joe Vega, 25, with accessory after the fact to a felony. Police believe Vega, of Manistee, helped James Michael Parrinello with a series of robberies, court documents indicate.

State police arrested Parrinello, 29, on Jan. 28. They believe he's responsible for the recent robberies of a Little Caesar's Pizza, Admiral Discount Tobacco and an A&W restaurant.

Housing project 'moving forward'

Traverse City commissioners recently approved what officials expect to be the last change in long-running negotiations to sell city property near the former railroad depot off Eighth Street to two affordable housing agencies.
