No injuries in BATA bus mishap

TRAVERSE CITY — A BATA bus hit a parked car in a grocery store parking lot, but no serious injuries were reported.

Traverse City police responded Monday shortly after 2 p.m. to an accident at Tom’s Eastbay Plaza. A BATA bus driver was in the parking lot completing paperwork when the bus moved forward and struck a parked car. The impact pushed the car forward and struck a second parked car.

A 40-year-old woman from Fife Lake was trying to get into the second parked car when it was hit. She complained of hip pain, but refused medical treatment.

The BATA bus was empty at the time. Police did not issue any citations, calling it a private property accident.
