CADILLAC -- A Mesick man faces an assault charge after authorities said he pointed a gun at another man's head.
Authorities this week charged Joseph Richard Gies, 54, with felonious assault.
Gies contacted a man Tuesday morning to tell him that he'd found his lost dog, but when the man arrived, Gies threatened to kill him and his dog if he saw them again, said Wexford County Sheriff Gary Finstrom.
Gies pointed the gun at the man's head and then fired it near him, Finstrom said. Sheriff's deputies arrested Gies at his Wexford Township residence.
He was arraigned Wednesday, and remains in the Wexford County Jail.
