GRAYLING -- State officials will help communities interested in applying for grants by hosting workshops.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will help local officials navigate the process for applying for grant funding from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Workshops will be held around the state this month and in February.
Sessions will be held in Iron Mountain, Inkster, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Grayling.
The Grayling session will be Feb. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ramada Inn, 2650 S. I-75 Business Loop.
Workshops are free and open to the public. Advance registration is not required.
Discussion topics will include applicant and project eligibility, funds distribution, application and attachment preparation, project selection and grantee obligations.
