TRAVERSE CITY — Police ticketed a Florida woman after she hit a person in a wheelchair with her truck.
The incident happened Thursday about 5 p.m. at the intersection of Boon Street and Garfield Avenue in Traverse City. City police said the woman, 28, was making a turn onto Garfield from Boon when she struck a woman, 54, who was crossing the intersection in her wheelchair.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver was cited for failing to yield.
