CEDAR - A 4-year-old boy riding a tractor tricycle was killed Sunday.
Gavin James Punter, of Allendale, was riding south on the northbound shoulder of Lakeshore Drive, south of Amore, in Centerville Township, when he was hit by a northbound van driven by Gertrude Shorter, 62, of Kasson Township.
The 4-year-old's grandmother, Margaret Punter, 52, of Allendale, was walking beside the boy. She was not injured. Shorter also was not hurt.
An investigation is ongoing, according to the Leelanau County Sheriff's Department.
