TRAVERSE CITY — Police arrested a Traverse City woman they said abused the 911 system.
The Traverse City Fire Department responded seven times from Friday to Sunday after central dispatch received calls for help from a 57-year-old woman. Police said each time the firefighters arrived, the woman was belligerent and failed to cooperate.
On Sunday, police said the woman began calling 911 but would hang up the phone when she was asked why she was calling. The Traverse City Police Department arrested her for misuse of the 911 system, and she was taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail.
