TRAVERSE CITY — A Lake Ann woman faces multiple felony charges after deputies said she cashed checks from her former boyfriend's bank account without his permission.
Grand Traverse County authorities charged Lorie Lee Running, 42, with three counts of uttering and publishing, a felony punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
Running's former boyfriend told Grand Traverse sheriff's deputies she stole his checkbook, then cashed three checks for a total of $1,700, court records show. Running told police she wrote checks to herself, but did so with her former boyfriend's permission.
