Man charged with theft from grocery

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City police arrested a man after a theft at a local grocery store.

Michael Christopher Leask, 45, is expected to face a theft charge. He is on parole for felony drunken driving, and likely will also face charges for violating parole.

Officers went to Glen's Market on Eighth Street Thursday evening on a report of a theft in progress. Leask had already left the scene, but officers located him a short distance from the store.

Leask has a criminal history with various felonies and misdemeanors dating to 1986, police said.
