TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City man faces a felony charge after police said they found marijuana in his backpack.
Grand Traverse County authorities this week charged Kevin James Stachnik, 22, with delivery/manufacture of marijuana. The felony charge is punishable by up to four years in prison and/or $20,000.
Traverse City police last week responded to a disturbance at a local residence, but Stachnik ran away before officers arrived, court records show. Officers eventually caught up with Stachnik, who allegedly had multiple bags of marijuana in his backpack.
Stachnik told them he sold marijuana to help with expenses, police said.
