TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City man is in trouble after deputies said he failed to change his address on the sex offender registry.
Grand Traverse County authorities this week charged George Laverne Scott, 68, as a habitual offender with failing to register as a sex offender, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and indecent exposure. The sex offender registry charge is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison and/or $2,000.
Grand Traverse sheriff's deputies arrested Scott after a woman reported that he sexually assaulted her, court records show. He also allegedly exposed himself to her.
