City Opera House to host Wine Summit

TRAVERSE CITY -- A fourth annual Northern Michigan Wine Summit will be held April 26 at the City Opera House.

The event is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and begins with a "State of the State" discussion on Michigan's wine industry. A panel of wine experts will discuss the history of wine-making in the state, its economic impact and other new initiatives in the industry, and answer audience questions. A trade show is scheduled from 2 to 4:30 p.m. where local wineries will have their products available for tasting by area restaurant managers and staff, media, members of the hospitality industry and others.

A wine-tasting event that's open to the public will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Opera House, to include door prizes and a silent auction to benefit the Michigan Wine Foundation. More information is available at www.NorthernMichiganWineries.com or by contacting Liz Berger at Chateau Chantal winery at (231) 223-4110.
