TRAVERSE CITY -- Police arrested an Interlochen woman after she allegedly backed her truck into another vehicle and fled the scene.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Front and Cass streets, police said.
A Traverse City Police officer saw a man running after the truck on Front Street as the suspect, 23, sped away.
Upon arresting the suspect, she "attempted to slam her own head into the tailgate of her truck, the hood of the police car and the rear partition inside the police car," said Capt. Steve Morgan. Morgan said officers repeatedly restrained the suspect from harming herself, but her injuries did not require medical attention.
The suspect was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail for leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license.
