TRAVERSE CITY -- The Bay Area Transportation Authority set holiday hours for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Prearranged bus service will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for in-town transportation. All rides must be prearranged by calling 941-2324 no later than 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
No zone or fixed route service, which includes the Cherriot, will be operating on Thanksgiving Day. BATA's dispatch and transfer center will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Regular service resumes on Friday. The Cherriot fixed route service runs from 6:10 a.m. to 6:10 p.m. Prearranged bus service is available from 6 a.m. to midnight that day. Holiday shoppers wishing to arrange a pick-up should call by Wednesday, or starting at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 27.
