Two arrested for drunken driving

TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City police arrested two men for drunken driving in separate incidents.

An officer saw vehicle tracks in the snow near the library on Woodmere Avenue shortly after midnight Saturday. He followed the tracks behind the library and eventually found a truck occupied by a man, 64, of Benzonia.

The man was drunk, police said, and got lost after leaving the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme. He was arrested for drunken driving.

Another officer saw a car driving east on Front Street at about 3 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle drove up over the sidewalk near the Northwestern Michigan College Great Lakes Campus, then spun around in circles at a high speed, police said.

That driver, a 22-year-old Traverse City man, also was arrested for drunken driving.
