GARFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A Traverse City man was charged with uttering and publishing and forgery after he allegedly wrote himself a personal check from another man's account.
Travis Rickerd, 32, allegedly was moving office furniture out of the victim's office when he found a blank check, according to court documents.
A representative from Fifth Third Bank stated Rickerd allegedly cashed an $850 check from the victim's account on Nov. 30.
The victim said he never endorsed a check to Rickerd, nor did he give the defendant permission to do so.
Police have not yet arrested Rickerd.
