TRAVERSE CITY -- A Kingsley man could face prison time for allegedly failing to pay child support.
Raymond C. Gooden, 31, recently was arrested and charged with one count of failing to pay child support, court records show. He also was charged as a habitual offender. This would be his fourth felony conviction.
He could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Gooden allegedly owes close to $40,000, and is required to pay $100 each week, records show. Judge John D. Foresman of 86th District Court in Traverse City set a $40,000 cash or surety bond and a preliminary hearing is set for January.
Gooden's record includes a 2001 felony assault with a dangerous weapon conviction in Missaukee County, and convictions in 2003 and 2006 for failing to register as a sex offender in Charlevoix and Kalkaska counties, records show.
