TRAVERSE CITY — Allen O'Shea will move on to challenge an incumbent Republican in November for the 101st state House District.
O'Shea, a Democrat from Copemish, beat Derek Bailey, of Honor, in Tuesday's primary.
The district represents Manistee, Mason, Leelanau and Benzie counties.
O'Shea had 2,674 votes to Bailey's 2,401 votes, according to unofficial tallies.
O'Shea won big in Manistee and also claimed Mason. Bailey led in Benzie and Leelanau.
