TRAVERSE CITY — Authorities continue to investigate an airplane accident in East Grand Traverse Bay.
A Traverse City man, 52, dropped his wife off at their Birchwood Avenue residence Sunday afternoon when he attempted to fly away in his single-engine float plane. But his pontoons took on water and tipped the plane on its side, according to a Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department statement.
He was not injured and nearby boaters helped him tow the plane ashore.
