CADILLAC — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment may buy 80 acres in Wexford County surrounded by state land on three sides.
The Michigan Natural Resources Commission next month will discuss the proposed $102,000 property purchase from Wexford County. The land is tax-reverted property in Liberty Township, about eight miles northeast from Manton. About 60 acres is upland habitat and the remainder includes a lake.
DNRE Director Rebecca Humphries could approve the purchase at the next NRC meeting on Aug. 11 and 12 in Escanaba.
