TRAVERSE CITY — Authorities identified a Florida man who died in a traffic crash.
James Goff, 30, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday night at the intersection of Center and Gray roads on Old Mission Peninsula. Goff, who rode a motorcycle, was south on Center when he struck a northbound vehicle turning left onto Gray at about 9:30 p.m. That vehicle was driven by Andrew Bontrager, 24, of Kalkaska.
Goff wore a helmet. He was thrown from the motorcycle and killed.
Grand Traverse sheriff's officials are investigating the crash and will send their findings to the prosecutor for review. Goff was traveling extremely fast, they said.
