TRAVERSE CITY-- Authorities released the names of two teenagers injured in a Leelanau County car crash.
Undersheriff Scott Wooters said driver Raechel Craker, 17, of Northport, and passenger Sheldon Parker, 17, of Suttons Bay, were injured after a Sunday car crash around 11:40 a.m. on Cherry Bend Road near Strang Road.
Craker told authorities she was distracted by her puppy, which was in her lap, as she rounded a corner. The vehicle left the road and rolled over.
Wooters said Parker was ejected from the car and Craker was trapped part way out of the car.
Craker was treated and released from Munson Medical Center, where Parker is listed today in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Wooters said police have not found the dog. Craker was cited for careless driving, he said.
