SUTTONS BAY -- Leelanau County authorities are looking for a jail inmate who didn't return from a work-release program.
Ramon Gregorio Fernandez, 34, didn't return to the jail at 6 p.m. Thursday. Fernandez had been serving a domestic violence sentence since August and had been on work release since October, said Deputy Shawn Dunn, of the Leelanau County Sheriff's Department.
Work release allows inmates to work for set periods and return to the jail. Fernandez worked at the Suttons Bay Quality Lube, Dunn said.
Fernandez may be wearing his work uniform of a blue shirt and pants with a name tag on the front, police said. He is believed to be with a female driving a grey 1994 Chevrolet Malibu.
The public is asked to not approach Fernandez. Anyone who sees him should call 911 or 256-9829.
