TRAVERSE CITY -- A man is charged with stealing more than $20,000 from a local condominium association.
Timothy P. Simonelli, 50, is charged with embezzlement of $20,000 to $50,000 by an agent or a trustee. Simonelli worked as treasurer of the Willow Cove Condominium Association, court records show.
His successor in the position allegedly discovered Simonelli wrote checks to himself and his business from association accounts, records show. He allegedly admitted to a Traverse City Police detective that he was in financial trouble and took the money.
Simonelli hadn't been arrested Monday morning.
