EAST JORDAN — A local man died after he crashed into trees and was thrown from his snowmobile.
Steven Smigulec, 54, of East Jordan, was snowmobiling on his property Saturday night when he overturned his sled, according to a press release from the Antrim County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies said he then was thrown from his sled, and family members found him lying in the snow hours after the accident.
He was transported to Charlevoix Area Hospital, where he died from blunt force trauma.
Children in crisis need a stable home with mature, flexible and dependable caregivers. The Grand Traverse-Leelanau Department of Human Services is holding an orientation to find such families.
