Guest speaker at Leelanau LWV meeting

SUTTONS BAY -- Leelanau County Clerk Michelle Crocker will speak at the April 7th noon meeting of the Leelanau Unit of the League of Women Voters Grand Traverse Area.

Her talk is entitled "Counting People, Counting Votes - Two of the Many Jobs of the Clerk." Crocker was last elected in 2008 for a four-year term. County clerks are legally required to fulfill a large number of responsibilities. A question and answer period will follow.

The League meets on the first Wednesday of each month in the Community Room of the Leelanau County Government Center. The public is invited. After the talk, there will be a business meeting for League members and guests. To learn more about the League or about the meeting, please contact Vina Mikesell at 386-5106.

Housing project 'moving forward'
