Manistee man faces criminal sex charges

TRAVERSE CITY — A Manistee man is expected to face a criminal sexual conduct charge.

Traverse City officers went to the 1000 block of South Union Street at 4 a.m. Thursday on a report of a sexual assault.

The mother of a girl, 12, said her boyfriend, who had been drinking, came over to the residence a few hours prior. She said he went into her daughter's room and saw her boyfriend laying next to her daughter.

The man, 35, left the residence, and the girl told her mother the man sexually assaulted her. Police found him on a bicycle and arrested him.
