TRAVERSE CITY — Police arrested a Traverse City man after they said he drunkenly crashed his moped.
Grand Traverse County authorities this week charged David Arnold Bathje, 55, with felony drunken driving and driving on a suspended license.
Traverse City police arrested Bathje after he crashed his moped along Division Street, court records show. Bathje told police he hit a pothole, but witnesses said he swerved and crashed near a curb.
Preliminary breath tests showed Bathje had blood-alcohol levels of 0.23 and 0.24 percent. He has two prior drunken driving convictions.
