Man rescued from burning home

CADILLAC -- Emergency responders rescued a man from a burning home in Wexford County, though fire completely destroyed the residence.

Firefighters from the Cadillac Fire Department were called just after midnight Sunday to a house fire on Mosser Street in Cadillac. A man leaned out a window in the older home as firefighters arrived and they pulled him to safety using a fire ladder, said Capt. Jeff Holly.

The man suffered from smoke inhalation and medical responders rushed him to Mercy Hospital Cadillac for treatment. Authorities did not release his name.

Firefighters battled the blaze for about three hours and spent Sunday morning extinguishing hot spots.
