Bulldogs 9th in homeschool nationals

TC team finishes season 22-1, with state regional titles

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Traverse City Bulldogs won their bracket at the National Homeschool Championships.

Playing their fifth game in six days, the Bulldogs defeated the Albany (Texas) Hawks 46-34 in the 5A championship game. By winning the contest, TC finishes ninth in the nation.

A long Kelsey Acton 3-pointer in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.

Kasey Acton had 15 points and five steals for the Bulldogs, while Rachel Crosby added 14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kelsey Acton chipped in nine points, Karlie Acton six, and Rebekah Crosby had six rebounds.

Traverse City outscored Nashville 23-7 in the fourth quarter Friday in a 55-47 win to earn a spot in the 5A final. Rachel Crosby had 14 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in that game, while Kasey Acton scored 23 to go along with four steals, Karlie Acton had eight points, eight rebounds and four steals, and Kelsey Acton notched eight points.

The Bulldogs — who committed just nine turnovers against Albany — end the season with a 22-1 record.
