TRAVERSE CITY — A man who struck a woman walking on a Fife Lake Township road could face criminal charges.
Michigan State Police on Saturday went to Munson Medical Center following a report of a woman who had been struck by a car. The woman said she'd been walking along Fife Lake Road about 2:30 a.m. Saturday when she was struck by a car. The car left the scene, she said.
A short time later, a driver picked her up and took her to her residence, where family members took her to the hospital. Police later determined the man who picked her up was the driver who hit her, Trooper Travis House said.
House wouldn't identify the suspect. A report has been sent to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor's office for review.
