JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Andy Huff scored 2:04 into overtime Saturday night to give the Traverse City North Stars a 3-2 win over the Janesville Jets and a sweep of their weekend series.
Huff redirected a Curtis Heinz shot for the game-winner. He leads the North American Hockey League with 15 goals.
It was Traverse City's six consecutive win and it kept the North Stars three points ahead of Marquette in the North Division.
After a scoreless first period, Janesville's Larkin Jacobson scored on a power play to put the Jets ahead. That came 1:18 into the period.
Just 16 seconds later, Kyle Jean responded off a Garrett Thompson assist to knot the score.
Janesville regained the lead with a second power play goal at the 6:16 mark. Ethan Nauman netted the goal.
With just over two minutes remaining in the second period, Doug Clifford tied it again, scoring a power play goal for the North Stars. Kellen Ainsworth and Dan Radke assisted.
Tyler Marble stopped 21 shots in goal for Traverse City.
The North Stars travel to Alpena on Friday, then host the Ice Diggers in their annual Thanksgiving Eve game Wednesday at Centre ICE.
