Driscoll leading free workshop
TRAVERSE CITY — A free writing workshop with Jack Driscoll is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20.
Driscoll's latest book is "The World a Few Minutes Ago."
The workshop will be about "He who is still laughing has not heard the news, or there is no ha ha in the funny."
The workshop, presented by Michigan Writers, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at University Center, room 217. For more information, call 492-3260.
Write about Kingsley for a prize
KINGSLEY — Competition is open for the Floyd Milton Webster Prize for History, offered by the Kingsley Friends of the Library.
First prize of $1,000 will be awarded to an author, 19 years old or older, who submits writing based on original historical research related to a person, place, event, object or time period important to the Kingsley area.
The prize for 18 and younger is $500.
The deadline to submit manuscripts is June 16. For more information, call 263-7270.
