Season ends for North Stars

FLINT — Just like that, it's over.

Traverse City saw its season come to an end on Saturday with a 5-0 loss to the Michigan Warriors in Game 4 of their NAHL North Division Conference series.

The series entered the weekend tied at 1-1, but the Warriors earned a 3-2 overtime win on Friday and then clinched it Saturday.

A.J. White -- the hero Friday with the overtime goal -- scored twice on Saturday and also had an assist on Michael Szuma's powerplay tally with a minute left in the first period for a 1-0 lead.

Robert Mantha and Kevin Gibson also scored for Michigan, which moves on to play either St. Louis or Janesville.

The North Stars are no longer in Traverse City, but soon one of their former standouts will be.

North Stars moving to Sault Ste. Marie

The North Stars are moving north, but they’ll no longer be Stars. Traverse City’s North American Hockey League franchise has been sold to an ownership group in Sault Ste. Marie that will move the team there and operate as the Soo Eagles.
