ELK RAPIDS — Antonio Vasquez (toe-knee), 61, died Jan. 31, 2012, at his home in Elk Rapids.
He was born June 27, 1950, in Brownsville, Texas, to Elberto and Orsolina Vasquez. They moved to Elk Rapids in 1964.
Tony loved life. He loved music and his family. No matter who you were he would cherish and value your friendship. Tony was a hard worker and would work from sunrise to sunset with a smile on his face.
His interests included family, his granddaughters, karaoke, puzzles, music and backgammon.
Tony is survived by his wife, Ellen Vasquez; son, Chris Vasquez; daughter and her spouse, Rachel and James Bayer; two granddaughters, Abigail and Emily Bayer; 15 brothers, sisters and their spouses; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held today, Feb. 4, 2012, at noon, with visitation one hour prior, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids.
