WILLIAMSBURG — Lena Elsie Wing, 90, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Bortz Health Care.
Lena was born on Dec. 10, 1921, in Pigeon, to the late Earl and Rose (Steinman) Stirrett. She married the late Vern Floyd Wing on April 18, 1938, in Goshen, Ind.
Lena attended Bayview Wesleyan Church and Bible Baptist Church for many years, and taught Sunday Schools and Bible Schools. She enjoyed traveling, camping and boating. She loved being a good homemaker, which included gardening, canning, cooking and baking. She was a wonderful mother and will be missed by her family.
Surviving Lena are her children, Donna (Gary) Flees, Gary (Helen) Wing, and Roger (Cheryl) Wing; grandchildren, Aaron (Alicia) Flees and Matthew McDaniel.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Sharon Kay; husband, Vern; daughter, Lois McDaniel; brothers, Clifford, Lee and Allen.
Visitation will be held for Lena from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, with a visitation held one hour prior, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Acme Township Cemetery.
