TRAVERSE CITY —
Arthur J. Haibel, 82, of Traverse City, died Thursday, June 28, 2012.
He was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Stow, Ohio, the son of John and Naundas (Grubb) Haibel.
Art graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in physics and math. He served his country in the United States Army and worked 32 years as a Sales Engineer for AC Spark Plug in Flint.
Art was an avid golfer and played as often as possible.
In addition to his wife, Jane Ann (Satow), Art is survived by his children, Michael (Anne) of Cedar, Sharon (Richard) Braden, of Shoreview, Minn., and Mark (Karla) of Fenton; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His brother, Harold, preceded him in death.
In celebration of Art's life, a casual gathering for family and friends will be held today, June 30, at 1 p.m. at the Crown Golf Club, Traverse City, with Chaplain Mike Wermuth officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Munson Hospice House or the charity of choice.
