Robert 'Bob' William Crossman

HONOR — Robert "Bob" William Crossman, age 75, died peacefully March 18, 2012, at home with his daughter, LeeAnn, by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born Jan. 5, 1937, in Highland Park, to Ferris and Armeline (Feldmann) Crossman.

Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964.

Having enjoyed the family cottage in Honor since a young child, Bob made the decision to move to Honor permanently in 1969.

Bob was a charter member of the Platte River Association Hall and a 36-year member of the Honor Lions Club.

Bob worked for the Honor Sport Shop, Jim Ames Excavating and retired from the Benzie County Road Commission in 1997 after 20 years. During his retirement he managed the Four Seasons Resort and the Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park.

Bob is survived by his children, LeeAnn Crossman and Aaron Leatherman, of Gaylord, Gary Crossman, of Benzonia, and Kathryn Crossman, of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Joyce's family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; and brothers, Don and Russ Crossman; also from Honor.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m., at Eden Bible Church. Visitation will take place an hour before the service for family and friends. Pastor Chuck Towersey will officiate the service. A luncheon will be held at the Frankfort Eagles immediately following.
