Pamela Kay Piotrowski, 55, of Manistee, died peacefully on Sept. 13, 2012. Her daughter, sister and best friend were all by her side at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born Dec. 13, 1956, in Manistee, to Joan and Philip Piotrowski.
Pam graduated from Manistee High School in 1975 and West Shore Community College in 1985, where she became a Registered Nurse.
Pam's kind, compassionate spirit made her a wonderful caregiver, and her career spanned over 25 years. Most years were spent at Manistee Benzie Community Mental Health as a psychiatric nurse. She also worked at Ludington's Memorial Medical Center and most recently at Friends Who Care in Manistee.
Pamela is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Piotrowski) Bernstein; son-in-law, Ryan Bernstein; two granddaughters, Audrey and Isla Bernstein, of Traverse City; her sister, Kimberley (Piotrowski) Matthews; brother-in-law, Gerry Matthews; two nephews, Jake and Quinn Matthews, of Onekama; and her best friends, Melanie (Kenny) Gary and Ronald Gary, of Traverse City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan (Ball) Piotrowski and Philip J. Piotrowski; and her brother, Philip R. Piotrowski.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 1 p.m., at the Lake Bluff Audubon Bird Sanctuary, 2890 Lakeshore Road, Manistee, MI. A casual luncheon will follow.
