Evelyn Argue

FRANKFORT — Evelyn Ethel Argue, 92, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2012, at The Maples in Frankfort. She was born September 25, 1919, in Benzie County, the daughter of Wilmer and Irene (Jennings) Howard.

Evelyn grew up on the Howard Farm near Arcadia. As a young girl, she loved to dance and socialize. One of Evelyn's favorite pastimes was playing cards. Her game of choice was Skip-Bo, but she could and would play anything, which she continued to do until the last few years of her life. Evelyn loved to travel and was fortunate to have taken many memorable trips.

Evelyn was employed for many years by Gwen Frostic in Benzonia.

Evelyn is survived by: her sons, Roger (Mary) Argue and Mason (Lisa) Argue; her daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Fleming; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Argue; her brothers, Ed (Joyce) Howard and Don (Billie) Howard; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

On December 28, 1939, Evelyn married Thomas Argue, and together they raised six children. Thomas preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Sue Ann; her son, Terry; her brothers, Bob Howsard, and Bernie Howard; and her sister, Eleanor De Stephanis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, with Pastor Jim Petteys officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Maples.
