Mable Anneta (Henigan) Knight

BUCKLEY — Mable Anneta (Henigan) Knight of Clarklake was born Sept 24, 1920, the daughter of Homer and Laura Henigan (Paddock) in Buckley. As a young woman, Mable worked at the State Hospital in Traverse City where she met her husband, Howard E Knight, then moved to Jackson, where she had spent most of her life and retired from Foote & Jenks.

Mable was very much loved and adored by her family and friends. She was a 30-year breast cancer survivor who enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and most of all her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Laura M. Kemble; brothers, Robert, Albert, Charles and Gilbert Henigan; and stepsons, Alan and Harry Knight.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Chmiel of Clarklake; son, Phillip (Susan) Knight of Kaleva; stepdaughter, Judy Marlan of Dallas; sisters, Ann (Sam) Bossingham of Buckley, and Evelyn (Dave) Youker of Grawn; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 7, at Covell Funeral Home, 200 N Brownson, Kingsley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your favorite charity or organization.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
