GRAND RAPIDS — John Clayton "Jack" Lougheed, age 79, of Grand Rapids and Briny Breezes, Fla., passed away peacefully and entered the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
He was born in Sault Ste. Marie on Aug. 19, 1933, to the late George and Maysie Lougheed. He married Edith Priest on Nov. 5, 1955.
Jack will be remembered as a faithful loving husband, a caring and supportive father and grandfather and a kind and thoughtful friend.
Jack worked for 28 years as divisional sales manger for Ball Corporation before retiring at age 56.
He enjoyed summers in his hometown of Traverse City and winters in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife, Edith; his children, Greg (Loryn) Lougheed, of Rockford, and Laurie (Steve) Carlson, of Grand Rapids; his five grandchildren, Austin Lougheed, Casey Lougheed, Blake Lougheed, Jeff (Angie) Carlson and Mandy Carlson; brother, Roger (Nancy) Lougheed, of Traverse City; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Dorothy Hopkins, Edith Wurm and Georgia Bell.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at West Bay Covenant Church, 12720 S. West Bayshore Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to West Bay Covenant Church.
