ELK RAPIDS — JoAnn Lee Jones, 45, of Elk Rapids, formerly of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully on Jan. 14, 2013, at Tendercare of Traverse City. She was born on May 19, 1967, in Green Bay, Wis., to her parents, Isiah John and Bonnie Rose (Schmidt) Long.
JoAnn was fun-loving; she enjoyed making people laugh, especially doing her animal impressions, along with going for a walk and hiking.
She was always in good spirits and knew just what to do or say to cheer you up when you were down. JoAnn was compassionate and a constant caregiver who put everyone else before herself.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sean Jones; father, John Long; brother, James (Karena) Long; and nieces and nephews, Nick, Alysha, Adrian, Laura and Brandin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Rose Long; brother, Isiah "Johnny" Long; and grandmother, Ellen Long.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Living Hope Assembly of God Church, 3050 S. Airport Road West, Traverse City.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
