Martha 'Marti' E. Johnson

NORTHPORT — Martha "Marti" Elizabeth Johnson, 63, of Northport, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Munson Medical Center.

Marti was born on March 19, 1949, in Detroit, the daughter of Daniel and Lillian (Bakken) Krieg. In 1984, in Rochester Hills, she married Robert L. Johnson, who survives.

Marti was a very talented and creative artist. Her pottery and fabric creations were outstanding, and she loved mixing mediums and creating very unusual pieces. She was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain family and friends. Her love of animals was also expressed as part of her love of life. Whether it be her outstanding gourmet meals, her talented creations or her love of life, her memory will live in us all forever.

In addition to her husband, Marti is survived by her stepchildren, Luke (Linda) G. Johnson and Anna M. Johnson; and sister, Tina (Robert) George.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Anne (Armstrong) Graves; and her parents.

A gathering of friends and family will be will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from noon until the start of the 2 p.m. memorial service, at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.
