TRAVERSE CITY — Jean M. Mathiesen, age 80, of Traverse City and Glen Lake, longtime resident of Overland Park, Kan., passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 27, 2012, surrounded by loving family. She was born April 5, 1931, in Evanston, Ill., to Albert and Marion Miller.
On Sept. 17, 1955, Jean married William Mathiesen in Park Ridge, Ill. Together they raised three children.
Jean was an active church and P.E.O. member.
She will be greatly missed for her never-ending love and support for her family and friends.
Jean is survived by William, her husband of 56 years; children, Martha, of Traverse City, Diane, of Easton, Kan., and Tom (Dorothy), of Parker, Colo.; grandchildren, Carly, Ryan and Kyle; and brother, James Miller and family, of Bridgewater, N.J.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
