TRAVERSE CITY — Gil Alan Anderson, 57, of Traverse City, died at home on Nov. 10, 2012. He was born in East Lansing, the only son of Glen Alan and Audrey (Anderson) Anderson, who preceded him in death.
Immediate surviving family members include his sister, Lori (Anderson) Terkeurst, niece Cori Terkeurst, both of Roscommon, and aunt Jacky (Anderson) Tompkins-Weede of Traverse City. He had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gil Anderson was graduated from Traverse City Central High School, earned a degree from Northern Michigan University and completed advanced degree course work at Central Michigan University.
He was a powerful life force who "marched to his own drummer." He was a life-long seeker of knowledge and truth. He was a writer who loved music, literature, mythology, theology, theater, and Tango. He was a friend to many, a champion to some, and a blessing to family and friends who loved him. He will be missed.
Gil's request for private interment has taken place, and according to his wishes, there will be no funeral. Those who wish to remember him may do so by supporting the Cherryland Humane Society.

The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
